TV Easel: Interesting or Horrible Idea

I came across this post at Uncrate and decided to search for what others thought about it. Well I was blown away at the responses I have found on the internet concerning TV easels.

TV Easel

Wired’s Charlie Sorrel says it would be something tasteless lotto winners would purchase.

Gizmodo seems to have conflicting issues. Sean Fallon likes this version while Mark Wilson seems to enjoy it as much as sour milk.

Although not mentioned in the articles I wonder if the price had a big influence. Or do they hate the idea so much no price justifies using an easel for a TV stand. What do you think about it?

Gadgets for Artists from Wired

Pete from Wired.com wrote a post discussing 15 must have gadgets for artists. Some of his list is very useful while other choices are more for the artist who has everything and just wants to blow their latest check. The hardware depends on the artist of course. For example if you are digital artist I think one of the best things you can purchase is a second monitor. But this is useless for a sculpture artist.

Wired.com’s list:

  • A Graphics Tablet
  • Poseable Mannequins
  • A Tiny (But Good) Camera
  • An Airbrush
  • Electric Eraser and Pencil Sharpener
  • Wacom Cintiq 21UX
  • Inkjet-Coated Art Papers
  • A Natural Light Lightbulb
  • Moleskine Sketchbook
  • Loupes
  • Flat Files
  • L.A.S.E.R. Tag
  • An Air Purifier
