San Jose requires builders to purchase art

This sounds weird put this way but an article I ran across made an interesting point, that some art and artists became popular because certain individuals would associate sounds with certain visual elements. This condition is called synesthesia. Synesthesia is a neurological condition in which two or more bodily senses are coupled. I found a lot of information on this at the synesthesia wikipedia article.

The news article made reference to Kandinsky saying his artworks could be “heard”. All of humans use a form of unconscious association but some see actual color when they hear music or hear music when they see certain things.

News article.

Corel Painter’s Freeware brother

Want to explore digital painting without spending lots of money and without a trial period?

Artweaver is a freeware program which appears to be very similar to Corel’s Painter.

It includes pen tablet support, transparency, layers, and preset brushes. The current version is 0.4 so it does not include all features 1.0 will include. But it has enough to start getting digital paint on your hands.

I am interested in hearing your comments / reviews.
