Behance.net is a new online artist community. Although this is still in beta you can take a look around to see other artist already in the network. Some of the nice attributes is allowing artists to control the “theme” of their profile more then other networks allow. Also Behance has a section called Circles, which is just another name for smaller niche groups.
If you feel Behance is too stuffy or too critical of your work, DeviantArt is a great community and welcomes artists who are just starting out.

The point of these is sometimes an artist needs to take a step back from their work when they have a creative block and just take some time to look at others work to stir back the creative juices.

The Web Urbanist has posted an article listing some legal guerrilla art techniques with reference. His point is urban artist have the ability to get their point across creatively without getting into trouble. My favorites are ones that deal with dirt or dust on objects and making designs by removing it. Hey you’re not defacing anything, you’re cleaning it; sort of.
Lifehack discusses designing with C.R.A.P.. Or otherwise using Contrast, Repetition, Alignment, and Proximity to improve designs and lesson mistakes. The ideas he talks about are talked about are discussed fully in The Non-Designer’s Design Book by Robin Williams.
Commenters seem to agree that design is less about making something look good and more about the ease of use which is the root of C.R.A.P.

I was blown away at how many logos are using the speech bubble in their design. Eachday points out most of these logos are from Internet startups trying to affix their identity with community and a sense of Web 2.0 and should be stopped from diluting what is a great symbol among designers. Can anyone say lens flare?
