Great Droste Effect Photo

Droste Effect you may not have heard of (we didn’t until we looked it up) but I am sure you have seen it before.

It is a Dutch term for a specific kind of recursive picture, one that in heraldry is termed mise en abyme. -wikipedia

Here is a great photo by Seb Przd using Gimp and Mathmap showing the Droste Effect very well. We really like the spiral effect as it really pulls you into the photo.

Halo 3 Papercraft Master Chief

Well really nothing makes this related to Halo 3 over another version of Halo but with the new version coming out why not spend the time waiting for the game to release by making a paper Master Chief. A fellow deviantArt member. It took the artist a month to develop and build and write the instructions for this. Check the link for the pdf to print out and make yourself. No doubt this user will gain a lot of fame for this and recognition. I wouldn’t be suprised if Bungie gives him something cool for his work.

Top Street Chalk Painters

Web Urbanist has posted some work from renowned artists using streets or sidewalks to create 3d looking art. The three artist discussed are Edgar Mueller, Julian Beever, and Kurt Wenner. Some can say this is nothing different then what artists have been doing for years on canvas. But because most think of chalk sidewalk art as something reserved for children is make the work seem even more impressive.
